I think that this is such a great picture because its got great texture and when u c a flower its usually very colorful and in the picture its black and white which i think really makes it stand out.
I believe that this is such a great photo because of the color the light and dark values. You do not just see black and white color you can also the the shades of gray. I think that because the photo is so contrast it makes the photo even greater. At first I thought that the photo was of a corn on the cobb with something weird at the end. But then after looking at I now see it looks like a arm and the sleave of a shirt with something weird at the end.

One of the reasons this is a great photo is because the shape and texture of the object all the folds makes the photo. I don't think it would look as great if it was in color, so black and white has something to do with it to. I like how the photographer captured all the creases and shadows of the object.

I think my mom may like a photo like this but for me its just a little too boring. I do think that it is a very pretty flower but I really believe that if the flower had more color or the background had more color this picture would be more appealing to me. I like doing black and white photo's but when it come to doing them of flowers it hards to get a good enough photo, unless you have a little color in them.

The lighting in this photo is so unique that it makes the piece look like a drawing and the flower is so crisp that the lines seem drawn by a steady hand. Although color hasn't been invented yet, i dont thin that color would make that much of a difference. Because of the black and white aspect its shades are shown in an amazing way. the photo of the flower looks so calm and serene. it also looks kind of like a drawing. This picture for some reason makes me think that it should be in some sort of inspirational kid story. Like a flower wanted to bloom but it couldn't then finally one morning as the sun kisses its petals, it opens. Unlike the other vibrantly colored flowers, it is many shades of gray, But the little flower doesn't care. It lays open in the warmth of the suns rays as it embraces it ever so gently. triumphant to see the light of day.

This is a wonderful picture, the subject has a great contrast with the background that makes it really stand out. The FLOWER also has great detail as far as paterns and texture goes that really adds to the affects of the photo. When you think of a flower you think of a wide variety of colors but because of the fact that it is in black and white, I find it truly amazing. It's like the photo has a mystery behind it.

This picture is really cool. It looks to me like an arm is emerging from the flower. It also appears large enough to pitch a tent on its surface. I don’t know what kind of flower it is, but that just adds to the mystery of the photograph. I think the color of the photo, or I guess the lack of color in it makes it even more interesting. I usually like the effect of a black and white photo, whether taken before or after color photos came along. The dark lines and background make the flower stand out.

The fact that this photo is so close up and in focus makes it incredible. You can actually see the texture of the pedals on the flower (thing). Also, the light effect that the photographer uses makes for a great contrast, so the details stick out more. GREAT!

I enjoy this picture for the older historical look it has to it. It also appears that everything arond it is dead or dying and the only thing with life in it is soon on it way this pic ha a lot of emotion in it even though its a flower. i can honestly say i liked it.

Um...hmm... where do i start. I love black and white pictures. I feel as if a picture could have a better result without color. I also believe that it can add so many things to it. It can add intensity, romance, thrill and show some massive skill. Ha, Ha! thrill skill.... Im Dr.Suess THIS photo is a good example.. because.... you cant reaaly tell what it is, leaves the mind open. Um.. hah... oh, it shows very good texture and contrast with the shades of light and color.

this is such a great photo because it shows something in black and white and its cool. i like how its kinda abstract and you dont know what it is right off but then you can figure it out if you look at it for a while. it makes you think and thats extra cool.

I think a big reason this picture is so successful is because of the soft lighting. It really highlights the folds and wrinkles in the flower. Even though you can see the base, the way the light hits the top of the flower it draws your eyes to the petals.

Okay, so I totally forgot to write anything for this like 3 weeks ago...
I think that this is such a great picture because the photographer created so many values with the lighting. The background and texture of the flower are both soft and they compliment eachother. The flower is so strange looking, and I think the weird shape kind of contrasts the softness of the picture.

At first glance this picture looked like a blossoming banana, but then after i really studied the picture I realized it was a flower. The shadows are beautiful and really bring the light out that is in the picture. It almost gives it a color with the darks and lights, there is a lot of contrast, but the picture is still soft. HB 4A
