What makes a great photo great? No, really. I mean really spectacular? Its more than just "cool" or "I don't know, I just like it". In fact, I think if you think about it, you can list 5 things that make great photos great. "what do you want me to do now?"
List 5 criteria of THE PERFECT PHOTO!

The thing that makes a perfect photo is your got to have focal point but you should have one that doesn't necceseraly drag you straight to it. Its got to be unique in its own way. THe background has to be something enjoyable that you would want to even jump into the photo and visit wherever the photo was taken. I also think a good photo should jump out at you and when you see it that all others around dont exist. The perfect photo should be something to catch your eye!!

criteria
1.) good focus (blurriness)
2.) contrast
3.) speaks to you/makes you feel something
4.)lighting ..maybe?
5.) originality
Five things that makes a good picture are one, the picture is able to make something boring, interesting. Two, it makes you think deeper than what's in the photo. Three, it doesn't look too photoshopped because if it does then I think it'll look fake. Four, color. If the color stands out it will make the objects stand out. Lastly, uniqueness. Something could be taken a million times, but what makes it different is how you make it your own.

Different people think that different photos are "spectacular". In my opinion, having a crisp and clear focal point is something that either makes or breaks the photo. I really pay attention to detail when analyzing pictures. To me, colors that stand out are also very important, especially colors that stand out and are made naturally (although I do like changing colors, using photoshop). The third most important thing, I would say, is hidden meaning. A photograph is never simply a photograph. If it has a hidden meaning, or secret symbol, it makes it that much cooler, and when you finally realize the hidden message, it's so great! Lastly, I will say that I believe light and line are also important. Lighting effects the photo sooo much. If it's natural or man-made, it makes all of the difference. Lines also are extremely important, and I ran out of time!

Alright well first off it has to grab your attention.
I feel like if it doesn't move you it isn't worth looking at.
I think it has to at least LOOK like it took a lot of time and effort (even if it didn't) to capture the look.
It think it has to have emotion and feeling.
And lastly I think that a piece of art needs to have creativity. It needs to be something different that nobody has. Individuality.

It is a hard thing for me to write 5 things that make a perfect photo. art is hard for me because I don't think in those terms very often. The perfect photo has to be clever, I find I like simple photos better then over cluttered photos. I feel shades are important, photos needs shade. There can't be blank space or white space. I like photos that are of everyday things that I take for granted.

1- contrast
2- original
3- sharpness
4- editing
5- color.

I think that the number one criteria of taking an amazing picture is spontaneous, i believe that if you take a picture right in the moment you will capture something true and real. Second thing that that makes a great photo is lighting the different contrasts if you can the real beauty of the photo. Third simple think simple when your taking pictures do not try to go out there thinking i need a perfect picture, think simple. I like the simple photos more then anything. Fourth editing is always good, you can sometimes improve a picture by doing just one thing to the picture. The fifth thing i believe there is to make a perfect photo is having a story behind a picture, I think that the picture is always better by having a story behind it.

I think to have a perfect picture u need to find something original, something with some meaning behind it, something with good lighting, it shouldnt need to be edited much to make it a good picture, and it should make people think
I think that composition, color, and lighting/shadow are all important in a "spectacular" photo.
I also think that photos should have some sort of meaning and not be the millionth time the same picture has been taken.
Siri N. 1B

In my personal opinion: The five things that make an incredibly spectacular photo are:
1) A new or interesting perspective on the subject
2) Creates a strong mood-by color, lightening, subject, expressions.
3) Makes you question what the picture represents- this vagueness allows the piece to be interpreted in many ways.
4)Relatable in some aspect
5) MOST IMPORTANT: Contains something that is new to the viewer. Is a piece that makes you think... "i would have never thought of that" Gives you a new outlook, challenges your views, opens your eyes to a new thought.

I think for a photo to be spectacular, it has to attract the eye, people need to feel emotion while looking at it. Looking at a good photo can make you feel happy sad, disgusted, etc. It needs to capture an image and make a statement. I think the best photos in the world are the ones that have the power to make change. It's all about being able to capture them. It cant be something thats over done, and has to have the perfect feel. You shouldn't look at it and think anything more could make it better. The best photos have the power to change perspectives.

I'd have to say that a great photo needs
1. A good photographer, someone who can visualize the beauty, and art in something usual
2. Something, anything, that makes the mind wander, or wonder.
3. It tells a story, hides a secret, or has a point to it
4. an appreciative audience, an in-depth photo needs viewers that are willing to dive for the meaning
5. and lastly, a photo needs to make the viewer see, not look. it needs to inspire.
1. Focal point
2. Color scheme (b&w counts)
3. Shape manipulation/repetition
4. Lighting
5. Theme

What makes a perfect photo is steadiness. you must have a point. (feeling etc.) you want it to mean something to you! Like the evening sky. it makes me happy! it means something to me. it should also pop out and bring people in.

The five things that would make a perfect photo to me would be the color mixtures, the focal point is focused but the background is blurry, says something about the event happened there or if the picture means anything to the person who took it, if it looks edited but it isn't at all, and the uniqueness and originality of the photo.
Kim P. 1a
The five things that compose a perfect photograph in my mind are any combination of the following:
interesting subject- such as a pretty landscape or interesting object
cool lighting- some sort of lighting that highlights whatever the subject of the photo is
uniqueness- the photo should be one of a kind
intrigue- the picture should stimulate your mind and intrigue you to wonder what the real meaning behind it is.
backround- the backround of a photograph is important, whether its a nice landscape behind a focal point or just a blank backround, the backround can make a picture if it fits or ruin one if its too busy or too bland
1.) Something out of the ordinary.
2.) Something you know took time to think about.
3.) Always has something to express.
4.) Shows a lot of color.
5.) Has good contrast and isn't blurry.
Sarah F, 3B
I think what makes a good photo is well the first thing is having fun and just enjoying photography. the lighting is a big thing too, you want to be able to see your subject. color is a major thing, even black and white is color! I don't always think that trying to concentrate on you subject is important, because sometimes when you are just randomly snapping pictures you can turn out really amazing pictures! thats what makes photography fun, yes is a serious thing sometimes but just trying to make a single good picture can be fun as long as you have good attitude about it!
Taylor R. 3B

what makes a great photo? i think what makes a great photo is the color and contrast of it. I love it when like picture came out from what you didn't expect it to come like. for example: shooting for a normal picture, but ends up looking like the image is doing weird pose or whatever.
1. i like a photo either in black and white or a photo with vivid colors
2. a pic that stands out
3. in needs to be unque
4. different angles
5.

I think what makes a photo great in my perspective is when they are black and white with high contrast. Or where the saturation is so low that there is barely any color but yet you can still tell that its there!
A main thing that makes a photo great is balance, you don't want it so light that its washed out, but then again you don't want it so dark that it looses value and detail like what would happen if the photo was to bright. Another thing is the saturation. You have to be careful with that, its either just right, or completely off. Too high and it gets blotchy.
Clearity is good,
strong colors,
self deffinition,
not something original,
EXPRESSION!

1. The photo has to have an interesting subject. There has to be something fun to look at in the picture.
2. The photo has to be clear. I have to be able to tell what I'm looking at. It could be an abstract interpretation, but I need to have see something.
3. There has to be a good contrast in either colors, or black to white.
4. Excellent photos have a deep meaning. They make me think of something that is important to me, or something I truly appreciate.
5. Excellent photos also have several different things to look at within them. It's not just one things, it's many points of interest
Ashley Winn 4B
I think that a perfect photo should have proper lightning that frames the subject, it should show the unique personality of the person, it should included a subject that is easily able to relate to or makes you think about it, it should have color that contributes to the main theme of the picture, and it should show excitment.
Brooke L. 1B
1. It's not blurry or fuzzy or too bright or dark, or anything like that. The photo needs to be clean and crisp and easy to see; that should be a no-brainer.
2. Color plays a big factor. Adjusting color either to black and white or emphasizing existing color can make all the difference.
3. Attention to detail is important, be it good detail or bad. For the 2nd photoshoot I took a picture I loved of some graffiti on the hill and didn't notice there was a big punch of crabgrass growing in the middle of the shot. Pretty much ruined the picture.
4. It's got to show that someone put in the effort. If people don't care about their own pictures, no one else is going to.
5. It's got to mean something. Black and white pictures of lawn chairs and odd angles may look cool, but unless there's a story behind it, the picture's meaningless.

The subject has to be interesting to me and also may be abstract. Another quality that give me that good feeling inside is that the subject is clear and in focus. I also like colors and the magnificentness of the great photo. I also like a photo that takes nothing and makes into a beautiful photo.
