This photo looks like it was taken on a cold winter day. The man is trying to control the horses, but they're so cold they don't want to listen. The horses are supposed to be taking the people to the store to get food and clothing for the cold winter months. It seems to be a sad photo, you can feel the coldness.

This photo, reminds me of a busy day. The road is clustered with a bunch of people. And the weather looks as if its a bit snowy.
To me, this photo represents the struggle of man. As humans, we try and control all that is around us, even when things do not want to cooperate. We create tools to help us control animals, such as the reins on this horse. This man is trying to lead his horse, but it does not want to go where the man is leading it. The horse is cold and it refuses to move, it has its own will, but as humans we try and bend or break their spirit.
To me the cold in this picture represents the cold feelings between man and the things we try and control.

This photo reminds me of a horse race, because of the dust and the horses. Except there's usually not a carriage in horse racing. The story is; a men is trying to guide the horses in the right place so they don't cause any trouble in the town. What I find interesting about it is that the cold air looks like dust which the horses could of been brushing around.

This photo looks like the man has gotten out of his carriage because his horses seem to be a little excited or as you could say out of control. So the man is drying to calm down the horses because he has people that he is trying to transport in his carriage. It looks like its a winter day and really cold but the one thing i find interesting about this photo is that the cold winds blowing make it look like a ghost town. If you notice the horse on the left is faded and isn't really there and same goes with the man he looks kinda faded to. Thats what i like bout this photo.

I like the little bits of fog, or it seems to be fog. It makes the picture look a bit better than it would without. This makes me think of a cold day and most people, like me, don't really like walking so they decided to take a horse trolly. I feel like it's in New York because of the buildings you can some what see. That man leading the horses probably isn't to happy about his job at this moment.

This photo looks like it was taken outside some station. The bus is presumably going to Harlem, since that's what the sign on the bus says. The people on the bus might be going home after a long day at work, or maybe they're moving there. Either way, there have been many other buses pulled along the same road because you can see the tracks they left in in the dirty snow.

This looks like a photo of horses pulling a carriage. However, the cold seems to be effecting the horses motivation to actually pull the carriage. So, a man is forced to try and force the horse to move. What i find interesting about this photo is that it's so cold that the horses are steaming. I just find it amazing that people are still able to function in such extreme temperatures.

This photograph makes me feel like it set a precedent in photography, not because of its mere historical value, but it proved that the art form was capable of freezing time for a split second in order to create an atmosphere around the spectator. When I look at it, I feel like I'm back at an airport of bus terminal, but I'm comparing the feelings I get inside these modern day locations with that which is in the photo. Suddenly, I'm beginning to realize that people were working harder than ever back then to get where they wanted to, and the fact that I'm able to walk around and rely on signs and informed computers brings my struggle down to size. It's not my fault, because this is just the way my life has worked out with technology, thus I know that the man trying to tame his horses isn't necessarily frustrated knowing that his job could be easier.

This photo is about a mysterious man attempting to lead his army of horses through the cold and wintery fog of the town. Though the air remains frigid and chilled, the horses' body heat creates the steam and fog that makes up most of the picture. I find it interesting that although the fog makes a majority of the picture blurry, it also makes the mood more intense, and causes the effect of the fog to be greater. It's almost as if the fog isn't there, or like the picture is in focus; because the observer of the photo still knows what's going on even though the horses are obscured by the fog.

I think the photo is illustrating everyday life in the city during the late 1800s. I like how the harsh cold of the day is clearly visible in the photograph. The warm breath of the horses and people adds intensity to the image. It looks like the horses are pulling a trolley on tracks, which is interesting because I didn't know that they did that. I think that this photo is about the busy streets in 1892. It look like it was taken on a cloudy, snowy day. I think this was taken in the winter and shows the harsh working life of the people back then, because of the way that the horses are being driving in the cold. I think that it is interesting that the steam is coming off the horses like it is, because it gives it an eery look to the photo.

I dont get what the photo is about but its pretty amazing. The fog scattered around everything creates a mysterious atmosphere. You can tell that its a very old picture because of the horse drawn carriage which makes it pretty interesting.

On the top of the first carriage, you can see the word "Harlem", which is a town in new york that was and is still dominantly populated by the african american race. Though i don't think that specific population would be permitted on the carriages. It seems tat the horses are struggling to withstand the cold which could be a metaphor for the struggles of people of all races to last the winter. Also, the picture is in black and white, as color was not available in 1892, i still find it symbolic of the battle between races in those days. since it is winter white dominates black. the picture also shows the darkness of winter. The photo was taken on a cold snowy day in New York City. This guy in front is trying to tame his horses and guide them though the town on foot. I think its cool because it looks like these horses are pulling a gigantic trolly.

I think this photo regards to a winters day of work with the horse pulled trolly. I think its story might be about the hard work that people do everyday even during the winter months. It tells a story of how people use to get around before all these fancy electronic things were invented.
I don't know what I really find interesting about it, it's not my type of photography.

This picture looks like there are ghosts standing amongst the humans. Or even that the ghosts are riding the trolly and the humans and horses (living things) are really the slaves and do all the work for the ghosts. Its kind of like planet of the apes where the apes rule the humans. In this picture the ghosts are really ruling the humans they just are ignorant to it.

The backround of the photo is interesting because it makes me wonder where the photo was taken. It's also interesting because the man in front is the only one in the picture.
It is an early version or the trolly, but this one is being pulled by horses. I really like how there is a lot of things going on in it. I really find it intresting that this photo was taken in Harlem.

I think this photo is about some person leading his horses with a wagon. In the photo it looks like it is very cold out because the guy is wearing a winter coat and it also looks kind of dusty. This photo is ok its not the type of picture that i would hang on my wall. BUT it is ok enough that i would consider putting it on my laptop background. its the type of picture that tells a story about a time period that we didn't live in. well this is all that i have to say about this picture so i will end it at that.
This picture looks like it came from an old book. It is really great. The horses are going a little out of control and the man is trying to control the horses. Its just really great how the person who took it captured the splash of the water.

The photo interests me and makes me happy in every single way. The cold scene makes me feel warm inside knowing that animal-person interaction is not only around today but also was around in the past. Harlem sets a mood for this picture, which is enjoyable for me and my thankful eyes. The black an white beauty also tickles my fancy. Lovely.

i love this photo it makes me really happy and glad to be alive. its good to know that the man isn't beating the horse because that would be mean. it looks like Harlem is a really nice place opposite of what i have heard about the city i think i might move there. if this photo was for sale i would buy it real quick. and never look at it because this picture is to good for me.

I think this was the most amazing picture i have ever seen in my life, and i really would love to have it in my house hanging on my wall. If i could have a chance to purchase the black and white olden day scene of life i would take that chance in a heart beat and wouldn't hold back at all. This picture makes me feel warm and calm on the inside and the animal and human reaction in this picture shows you love and spirtual connecton throughout your soul. There is no photo or any other picture that could give my soul such a great intense rush of happiness and joy that sends an electric shock through my body. The hazy smoke and the gray and black scene should give me a gloomy and dark feeling, but i feel this extreme sense of excited joy filling my whole soul with its grasping claws dragging me into the incredible photo.

i really liked the picture for one because its in black in white during winter. i like the smoke coming of the horses because it shows that the horses have been working hard. overall its a pretty good picture because it has several things in the picture...The building in the back, and the horses pulling the trolly.

This photo makes me think of a cool misty day in the city. It shows the true nature of the city. My eyes can find the horse but what's interesting is how the city buildings are more clear to me then the actual horse. The fact that it is in black and white, the dust really comes out to me. It seems like an unusual composition for the city and it makes me wonder what they are doing there. However it shows true life.

I think this picture is weird. i couldn't tell for like ever if it was snowing of fog till someone told me it was fog. Over all I like this picture
To me this photo looks like the representation of the working class during like the time of the great depression. The weather outside looks cold and dismal but the horses are steaming, indicating that they are working hard. I think that shows that even though the conditions are much less than perfect, the horses still work hard, like when times are rough in our country, noble, hardworking people still work as hard as ever.
i tihnk that this photo is very old. i think that it isnt photoshoped and with a little photo shop it would make it a more modern photo. its a nice idea but it just looks older to me.

This photo is about the horses giving people a ride to their destination and its a old photo from probably the 1800"s. It's story is the people are getting rides by the horses so they can get to their destinations, and it's cold out, and it's winter. I think it's interesting because the way they made the fog look and the horses make it look like it's from the 1800"s.

I think this photo has a lot of things to look at. You can notice the snow on the building above the window sills but what stands out most is the mist around in the middle of the scene. The black and white adds to the older look the picture has also.
